YOUR GUIDELINES WILL SHOW THE PROPORTIONS IN A HUMAN HEAD.

A PROPORTION IS THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN PARTS OF SOMETHING.

MOST PEOPLE’S EYES ARE ABOUT HALFWAY BETWEEN THEIR CHIN AND THE TOP OF THEIR HEAD.

WHAT OTHER PROPORTIONS CAN YOU SEE?

  1. USE YOUR IPAD TO RESEARCH PEOPLE or human like creatures. LOOK FOR SHAPES AND LINES THAT MAKE PEOPLE LOOK ANGRY, HAPPY, SAD, etc.

  2. SKETCH SOME IDEAS FOR YOUR SCULPTURE USING SIMILAR SHAPES AND LINES.

  3. DRAW 3 DIFFERENT VIEWS OF YOUR SCULPTURE (FRONT, SIDE, BACK, TOP OR BOTTOM).

  4. MAKE A LIST OF FORMS YOU WILL NEED TO BUILD TO CREATE YOUR PROJECT.

  5. COLOR IN YOUR DESIGN USING MARKERS OR COLOR PENCILS.

EXTENSIONS:

Sculpture: You can attach your clay head to a body to make a clay figure. Use old scraps of cloth, beads, string, etc. to make clothing for your sculpture.
