Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest

Student poster contest brings awareness to fire prevention

The Ohio Department of Commerce’s Division of State Fire Marshal invites students in kindergarten through grade 6 to participate in the 2022-2023 Fire Prevention Week Poster Contest.

*Students should submit entries on 8.5 x 11-inch paper to their local fire departments during Fire Prevention Week (Oct. 9-15).

*The theme of this year’s Fire Prevention Week is “Fire Won’t Wait. Plan Your Escape.”

FIRE ESCAPE PLAN MAP

1. Think about how you can create a poster about fire safety. Theme: “Fire Won’t Wait. Plan Your Escape.”

2. Sketch out an idea on 8.5 x 11-inch paper.

3. Color in your design with your choice of materials.

4. All artwork must be original. No computer-generated artwork or photographs may be used. Clippings from magazines, newspapers, and books are not appropriate. No traced images are accepted.

5. Upload a photo of your artwork to Seesaw and turn in your original drawing to your teacher.
