For the Unit 4 Parabola Selfie Project in my Algebra 2 Trigonometry class, I went hunting for an a parabola in real life! I found a pair of safety goggles with lenses that measured 2.75 inches across and 1.5 inches from the vertex to the nose bridge. Using Desmos Graphing Calculator, I was able to graph a parabola that closely matched the shape of the goggle lens and find different characteristics of the function. For instance, my graph’s vertex was at (5,3) and the line of symmetry was at x = 5. Here is a poster I created to represent this project: Parabola Selfie Poster
