National School Lunch Week is almost here!  

The National School Lunch Program serves more than 30 million children every school day—that’s something to love!

President John F. Kennedy created National School Lunch Week (NSLW) in 1962. During this annual weeklong celebration, students around the country celebrate in their cafeterias with decorations, special menus, events, and more.

The 2018 NSLW theme is “School Lunch: Lots 2 Love

Show off your drawing and coloring skills to share what you love about school lunch! Gilles-Sweet Elementary will celebrate by hosting a coloring contesT during the week of october 15th-19th.

  2. SKETCH OUT SOME OF YOUR FAVORITE SCHOOL LUNCH FOOD.

  3. COLOR IT ALL IN.

  4. WRITE YOUR NAME AND CODE ON THE BACK!

  5. TAKE YOUR ARTWORK DOWN TO THE CAFETERIA.

Next Week is National School Lunch Week!

We will be celebrating with lots of fun activities.

Parents are welcome to join their student for lunch any day of the week.

Here’s what is on the menu!

Monday: Stuffed Cheeseburgers with Vegetables or a side salad; fruit and choice of milk!

Tuesday: Sweet and Sour Chicken Lettuce Wraps with Steamed Vegetables or a side salad, fresh fruit and choice of milk!

Wednesday: Beef or Chicken Burrito Bowls with a choice to add Black Beans and Sour Cream, with a green garden salad, fruit, and choice of milk!

Thursday: Chicken Nuggets with a dinner roll, Sweet Potato Fries, celery and dip or a salad, fruit and choice of milk.

Friday: Cheese sticks with marinara dipping sauce, steamed corn or a side salad, fresh fruit and choice of milk.
