Paul Klee was born in Münchenbuchsee, Switzerland on December 18, 1879. His highly individual style blended cubism, Expressionism, and surrealism. Klee was very interested in color theory.
He and his friend, the Russian painter Wassily Kandinsky, both taught at the German Bauhaus school of art, design and architecture. His artworks have a sense of humor and sometimes a childlike perspective. HE WAS ALSO INTERESTED IN THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN ART AND MUSIC.
