The Progressive Era was the period of time in the U.S. where the ills of society were no longer pushed aside, and progress was finally made regarding working conditions, food and safety regulations, equal rights, and much more. Throughout the Progressive Era unit in my history class, I learned about the progressive amendments, the literature written by muckrakers and journalists, and how the events of this time period shaped the country we know today.

The final product that I created for this unit was a newsletter. The topic that I chose to focus my project on was Women’s Suffrage. It included four articles entailing what suffrage is, the women’s movement, the 1879 Presidential Election, and the ratification of the 19th amendment.
