Democrats, Looking Past Mere Victory, Hope to End the Trump Movement
New York Times
Amy Chozick 3 August 2016
Who: Mrs. Clinton, Mr. Trump
What: Presidential election
Where: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
When: July 28, 2016
Why: Hillary on rising edge for election, Trump is drowning
As the election runs closer Mrs. Clinton and the democrats have a plan for the white house. While Mr. Trump is “shooting himself in the foot,” says Mr. Dowd, Mrs. Clinton plans to make better relationships with voters. After the Democratic Convention ended on July 28th, Hillary had a promising lead against Republicans. Using the new wave of electorates, Mrs. Clinton plans to not only beat the Trump campaign, but to put “the country on a path where Trump’s views of the world are far in our rearview mirror.” Mr. Trump manages to continue to let himself drown, most recently with the criticisms of the Muslim-American soldier killed in an explosion, and only manages to build up his core supports.
I feel as if Mrs. Clinton is going to win this election, sheerly on the fact that Mr. Trump is more hated by Americans, and even his own party.
I learned that Hillary Clinton is able to rise from the ashes to go for presidency, while Donald Trump manages to burn himself more, without ever entering a really fire.
This information can affect my life from voters, being if Mr. Trump becomes the president then i believe America is doomed.
Why do you want to end Trump’s opinions?
How are you going to use Trump’s stupidity to your advantage?
Do you believe Trump will just drop the race?

Failed Turkish Coup Accelerated a Purge Years in the Making
New York Times
Ben Hubbard, Tim Arango, Ceylan Yeginsu 22 July 2016
Who: Turkish Government
What: Coup against government
Where: Turkey
When: July 15, 2016
Why: Some Turks upset with government and want a new leadership
On July 15, 2016 at the Turkish military headquarters a coup attacked with gunfire. The coup, believed to be lead by Mr. Gulan, attacked political sites around the Turkish government. From this coup the Turkish Government started a purge of 10,000 citizens and military officials, scaring some at the speed they collected them. Although Turkish Intelligence claims to have known of the attack, the coup still managed to take hostages until being shut down by Mr. Erdogan’s people.
My opinion of this article is that the Turkish government could have and should have stopped this from occurring if they knew such a plan existed so no lives would be lost.
I learned that over 10,000 citizens and military officials were arrested already within a week.
This information does not directly affect my life being I do not live in Turkey and have no plan to travel there, but it clearly affects the citizens of Turkey and the Turkish government along this the countries around Turkey who are fearful of such hostile actions.
Why would you not take more action towards the coup?
How will you keep the judging fair to the imprisoned?
Do you plan to completely restructure the Turkish State?

F.B.I. Director James Comey Recommends No Charges for Hillary Clinton on Email
New York Times
Mark Landler 5 July 2016
Who: Hillary Clinton
What: Her personal email
When: Last year
Where: Clintons’ home
Why: Used personal email for classified information
This article was about Hillary Clinton’s criminal charges for her use of personal email on classified information. The F.B.I. directory gave Hillary Clinton no charges for her use of email based on the fact that the F.B.I. could not find that she did so intentionally. This investigation started a year ago when the inspector general told the Justice Department of Hillary’s emails. These emails where routed through her home server which made them her personal emails. These charges came because the sensitive information passed through insecure servers which affected national security; from that she was under investigation until declared clear of punishment.
I feel that Hillary Clinton should have a penalty more than just a public tongue-lashing, especially because the F.B.I. director “declared ordinary government official could have faced administrative sanction for such conduct.”
I learned that Hillary Clinton is not facing charges for her personal email.
This information affects the Clinton’s campaign from “lifting an enormous legal cloud from her presidential campaign.”
Why would you use your personal email for top secret information?
Why would you email information you probably knew would become secretive?
What if a terrorist attacked occurred because of this leak in information?

Donald Trump Starts Summer Push With Crippling Money Deficit
New York Times
Nicholas Confessore and Rachel Shorey 20 June 2016
Who: Donald Trump
What: Donald Trump’s spending
When: Past year
Where: Mr. Trump’s headquarters
Why: Mr. Trump’s spending policies different than other candidates
The article is about Donald Trump and his campaign strategy. The article talks about Mr. Trump’s spending on his campaign and how it is different than almost every other campaign. This has occurred over the past year of his campaign, spending and making less than pervious Republican candidates. This took place in nowhere particular, but at Mr. Trump’s financial headquarters. This article was written because of the change in revenue than the Republican Party planned for and his spending is less than the normal cost of campaigning.
Knowing people who are business men and women, the way Donald Trump is running his campaign is an amazing way compared to the others who spend more money to win the presidency. So, with that and this information, Donald Trump would be good at fixing the national debt.
I have learned that Donald Trump has been spending less than other candidates.
This information effects the Republican Party being as they are making less money during this campaign right now.
Why does Donald Trump claim to self fund his campaign, yet ask for donations?
How are you keep your campaign going with only 70 staff members?
How is your campaign going with only $1.3 million or so?

Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump Call Each Other Unfit for Presidency
New York Times
Alan Rappeport and Ashley Parker, 10 June 2016
Who: Donald Trump & Hillary Clinton
What: who is better for president
When: Early June
Where: Nation wide campaigns
Why: trying to prove they are better for the presidency
This article was about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and the fight for presidency. The article talked about each candidate believed they were right for presidency and how the other was unfit. This occurred more frequently once both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton locked up their nominations this last June. These rivalries happened around the nation on both Mr. Trump’s and Mrs. Clinton’s campaign stops. This all happened because of the differences in the views of Donald Trump and Hillary CLinton and as a way to gain public appeal they found it easier to question each others’ actions.
This article led to questions on Trump’s campaign more than Hillary’s being as to how questionable Mr. Trumps allegations were, such as Hillary’s inability to say “radical islam” as a reason she is unfit for presidency.
I learned that Donald Trump changed his views on Planned Parenthood and safe abortion when Hillary Clinton agreed on them.
This information will not affect my life directly yet, not being allowed to vote I do not need to care for how unfit either side is for the presidency. However any and all voters should pay close attention so they know who is right for them as president.
Why is Hillary Clinton unfit for presidency for not saying “radical Islam?”
What changed your mind of Planned Parenthood and safe abortions?
How would Donald Trump “take us in the wrong direction on so many issues?”

Health Final
Why is it important to learn CPR and maintain knowledge of Heart Health? +10
CPR is a very important tool to know in life along with heart health. CPR could save a child’s life, or a friend or family members’. To learn CPR is to learn a life saving way that almost anyone can learn and perform. Heart Health is another important thing to know so heart attacks and other heart related problems can be less likely to occur. Knowing how the heart works and how to maintain good heart health can prevent the need for CPR and lead to a better life.
How well did I do with the physical skills of performing CPR for the adult, child, and infant? +10
My group took three days to do all the physical skills to perform CPR. However, over these three days we probably learned more in depth than the other groups. I know the difference between chest thrusts and chest compressions. The prior being when a baby is choking, the latter when the baby is unconscious. Over the course I learned how many hands or fingers it was to whom you are giving CPR to, and the age groups. I for one believe you did well and teaching us how to perform the physical skills for CPR.
Where could I use CPR in the future and what jobs would require me to have such a certification? +10
CPR can be used anywhere in the future. If your child is choking you may have to use it in your own home. Even at a business dinner party, if your boss starts choking on his meal you may be the only one certified, and they would sure be grateful to you for saving their life. Not many jobs require people to be CPR certified. However, any health professional like doctors and nurses would be required to be CPR certified at least. Other jobs would be lifeguards where if someone drowns in the pool it is up to them to bring them back to life.
Why is it important to understand CPR procedures as they apply to the different levels of CPR victims? +10
CPR is more than just pounding on someone’s chest and screaming, “Live! [Darn] you, live!” CPR takes practice and has different forms and procedures for different situations. If the victim is a baby in cardiac arrest you would not use two hands like on an adult and then swab the mouth for the object they are not choking on. Just as you could not give CPR with two fingers to a choking adult, as that would do nothing for them. Not knowing the correct procedures for CPR on different levels of victims is as bad as you killing them yourself in most cases.
Explain what you did during your activity period and how you remembered the different skills involved? +10
We did many things during the period, and took time remembering the skills. Over the three classes that we did CPR, my group did adult unconscious and choking victims. The next day we did more adult and then kid victims along with the AED. On the last day we did babies and how to do CPR for a conscious choking, unconscious choking, and cardiac arrest. To remember all the steps I would repeat them in my head and work them over. Another way I would remember is watching the other groups to see what they were doing and think of how good or bad they were doing it.
Using the heart terms presented, explain the flow of blood from non-oxygenated blood to becoming oxygenated blood to the rest of the body. (Superior Vena Cava/Inferior Vena Cava, Right Ventricle, / Pulmonary Artery, Pulmonary Veins / Left Ventricle, Aorta. +10
The blood starts throughout the body and is pumped into the heart through the vena cavas. The Superior Vena Cava pulls from the upper body as the Inferior Vena Cava pulls from the lower body. The Vena Cavas dumps the blood into the right ventricle which in turn pumps it into the Pulmonary Artery. The Pulmonary Artery pushes the blood through the lungs where it is oxygenated. The Pulmonary Veins then take the blood from the lungs and pushes it into the left ventricle. The left ventricle then pumps the blood to the Aorta where it goes out to the body. This cycle repeats with every heartbeat.
English Reflection
1. What are your top 2-3 favorites that we read this year (can be poem, novel, play, short story, etc.)?
My two to three favorites were Macbeth, The Great Gatsby, and the The Night Thoreau spent in Jail that we read over the year.
2. What book/poem/play/etc. Would you suggest that we NOT read next year?
I suggest not reading A Rose for Emily next year.
3. Suggest 1-2 books, short stories, plays, or poems for next year. Give the title and author, and explain why you chose it.
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley shows the human ideology from two points of view and shows struggles of person against society and person against self, among other lessons and arguments that can be made throughout the story.
4. What are your favorite and least favorite assignments during the class?
The research project was my favorite because I learned more about Spongebob than I ever thought I would, but my least favorite was the research project from finding everything and putting it into words.
5. How would you change the class?
I would have more debates or discussions over major conflicts in the story and be able to set up arguments and defend opinions.
6. Overall, what do you think you learned this year in English?
Stories have changed over time and are not the one state readings that most think.
7. Overall, what do you think you still need to work on as an English student?
My grammar and spelling is an atrocious thing, though I have learned how to use the comma more, they still need work.

Quarter 4 Goal Analysis
My Quarter Four Goal was to raise my essay scores and study for the AP United States History exam. This was attempted by taking time in writing the essays slowly and thinking them out. Also by finding time to study so it is not all at once. Some of the notable events that occurred was that I would be studying for the test but doing other homework at the same time. Another was that I did not do the AP United States History studying when there was time to do them over times of little homework. Lastly, over break, instead of doing the homework, I spent time with my girlfriend and family.
When I was watching the videos I was also doing the homework from other classes. The trouble with this was that I was distracted when watching the videos. Making concentration, among other things, harder to do while watching. Though the stillness of the house was a great comfort while trying to concentrate on what the video was saying. Though I had time to do some of the AP United States History notes, I chose not to because I did not feel like working on them. I had more fun things to be doing, like spending time with family and such.
Overall I think I was successful in achieving my goal, being that my essays were given full credit and I got a four out of five on the practice test. I can still build upon when a reasonable time is, and shift it back from the due date more. I feel that over the time I spent in APUSH I learned more about the United States history. I succeeded in most of my goals and managed to do well in the class.

Quarter 3 Goal Analysis
My Quarter 3 Goal was to raise my essay scores and get my AP United States History notes done in a reasonable time before they are due. This was attempted by taking time in writing the essays slowly and thinking them out. Also by finding time to do the notes over time and not all at once. Some of the notable events that occurred was that I was sick on one of the days we did an in class essay, another was that I did not do the AP United States History notes when there was time to do them over times of little homework. Lastly, over break, instead of doing the homework, spent time with my girlfriend and family.
When I was sick the class had the in class essay where we used a notecard to study. The trouble with this was that I was sick when writing an essay. Making concentration, among other things, harder to do while writing. Though the stillness of the house was a great comfort while formulating thoughts and making words out of them. Though I had time to do some of the AP United States History notes, I chose not to because I did not feel like working on them. I had more fun things to be doing, like spending time with family and such.
Overall I think I was successful in achieving my goal, being that my essays were given full credit and I am not in a mad dash to finish the notes. I can still build upon when a reasonable time is, and shift it back from the due date more. As for a new goal, why not have keeping the essay grades up but start studying for the big test more. This will hopefully happen by taking time for the essays and using the resources to study for the test.
